Information for presenters

Poster Presenters

The poster boards are 2 metres high and 1 metre wide and so you should prepare a poster of portrait format to fit within these dimensions.

We will supply Velcro pads at the venue to allow fixing to the poster boards.

The poster should be mounted against your allocated poster number, which will be in the conference brochure.

You should mount your poster on arrival at the conference and then remove it  at 1pm at the close of the conference (Wednesday 25th May). If you register late then please set up your poster between the oral presentations.

There will be a number of attended poster sessions organised in such a way that will give you the opportunity to present your work to delegates and also to give you the chance to view the work of others. The timings of these sessions are available on the programme.

Oral presenters

Keynote Speakers should refer to the programme for the timing and duration of their talks. Speakers should leave 5 minutes for questions.

Invited Speakers should refer to the programme for the timing and duration of their talks. Speakers should leave 5 minutes for questions.

Oral presentations selected from abstracts should prepare a talk lasting 10-12 minutes, to allow 3-5 minutes for questions. Presentations should be in a 16:9 ratio. The exact time and date of your talk is available on the programme.

Speakers will be asked to load their talks onto the conference audio-visual system at the Event centre prior to their session. Please bring the talk to the conference on a USB memory stick and locate a member of the audio-visual team who will help you upload it to the presentation system. If you wish to send your presentation to us prior to the event then please follow the instructions that have been e-mailed to you.

Flash Presenters

The flash presentation allows you an opportunity to alert the conference audience to your poster.

Given the limited time we have available we must apply strict rules for these rapid-fire flash talks. The flash talks MUST contain a MAXIMUM of 3 slides of science (you may have an additional opening slide with your poster title, name and institution of course) and MUST be of NO MORE than 3 minutes duration. Presentations should be in a 16:9 ratio.

You will be given instructions on how to load your flash talk onto the conference audio-visual system but please bring the talk on a USB memory disk in preparation. If you wish to send your presentation to us prior to the event then please follow the instructions that have been e-mailed to you.

You will have been informed of your presentation session by e-mail. The exact time of this session is available on the programme. The order of flash presenters in your session will be confirmed on the day.
