Getting from Heathrow Airport to GSK House
If you arrive in the UK at Heathrow airport then you will only be a short distance from GSK house and the Brentford area, where the recommended accommodation is located. The following instructions will help your transfer:
Option 1: Road/Taxi - The easy and quick option
From the airport the easiest option will be to get a taxi to your destination (the conference venue/hotel). The cost should be approximately £30 for a taxi and the journey should take 20minutes. This is the cheapest and easiest way to get to your location if there are a few of you travelling together.
By road, you should follow signs for the M4 and take the M4 motorway towards central London." You should leave the motorway at Junction 3 and follow signs towards Hounslow. At the "Waggoners" roundabout, take the A4 following signs towards Hammersmith and Central London. GSK House is on the A4 on your left at the first set of traffic lights past Gillette Corner (the junction with the B454 Syon Lane – recognizable by the large "Gillette" factory).
Option 2: Public transport - More economical for those travelling alone
London underground – Take the Piccadilly line from Heathrow (Zone 6 of the London Underground) towards Arnos Grove and alight the train after 6 stops at Boston Manor (Zone 4). This journey should take approximately 15 minutes. You now need to walk – come out of Boston Manor station and turn right. Walk south for approximately 15 minutes until you reach GSK house. The alternative to walking from Boston Manor station is a short taxi ride or a bus from Boston Manor bus stop N. If you wish to take the bus you should take the E8 bus towards Brentford Bus Depot (2 minute journey).
To pay for the journey on London Underground there are three options:
